In the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology at the University of Göttingen is a PHD POSITION available in a DFG funded project to study peroxisome biology.
The research program will focus on factors required for formation and
function of peroxisomes. Our laboratory works mainly on genes and
proteins involved in the cellular formation of peroxisomes (peroxisome
biogenesis) and pathways that are associated with human inborn peroxisomal
diseases. We are also generating mouse models for these disorders
that will allow research on new therapeutic approaches.
We are offering an attractive environment of basic science and clinical
research with research interaction within the neurosciences at the University
of Göttingen and the Max Planck Institutes for Experimental Medicine
and Biophysical Chemistry.
The position is now available for two years with possible further extension.
The successful candidate must hold or expect to obtain a masters degree
(MSc, Diplom, or equivalent) in one of the following fields: biochemistry,
neurobiology, molecular or cell biology.
Women are especially encouraged to apply. Handicapped applicants with
equal qualifications will be given preferential treatment.
Candidates should send a CV, a brief outline (max. one page) of research
experiences and scientific interests, and the contact details of at least one referee to
Prof. Dr. Jutta Gärtner
