The Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology
– Hans Knöll Institute – investigates the pathobiology of human-pathogenic
fungi and identifies targets for the development of novel natural product-based
antibiotics. We invite applications for a Postdoctoral position (two years initially)
Successful candidates will investigate
Complement Genetics in Renal Diseases
Main topics of the project are
• Identification of Genetic Mutations of Complement Genes in Renal Disease
MPGN and HUS
• Genotype Phenotype Correlation of identified genes
• Functional characterization of CFHR1 and CFHR3 proteins
Requirements: Doctoral degree in biology or life sciences. Experience and
knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry immunobiology and genetics are
relevant for this project. Excellent and good experimental skills in molecular biology,
immunobiology, cell biology and genetics are required. Experience in bioinformatics
are of advantage.
Salary is paid according to German TV-L.
