A PhD position “Mechanisms and imaging of cardiovascular cell-cell interactions“ at the the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry

With funding of industry and the SFB 688 “Mechanisms and imaging of cardiovascular
cell-cell interactions“ a PhD position for a life scientist with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research is offered in the group of Prof.Wolfgang Bauer.

The project is situated between the Dept. of Internal Medicine I, the Dept. of
Experimental Physics V, and the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry.

The aim is to characterize, primarily by non-invasive methods, the time course and
interrelation of functional and morphological changes during the process of atherosclerosis.
Imaging modalities are high resolution 1H MRT, 19F imaging and high-end
MR techniques quantifying elasticity of the vessel wall. Contrast agents for
molecular and cellular imaging are developed in cooperation with the Institute of
Inorganic Chemistry.

The candidate is supposed to participate in the Graduate School of Life Science
(www.graduateschools.uni-wuerzburg.de/life_sciences/).
Salary is based on TV-L. The position is available immediately.

The position may be suitable for a postdoctoral researcher as well and can be
