Laboratory Specialist – in vivo pharmacology (temporary 1 year)

The Position
To further strengthen our organization we are looking for a Lab specialist or a Research Associate in the department of Metabolic and Vascular Disease Biology. We seek a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced technician to perform physiology and pharmacology studies in rodents related to diabetes and kidney disease. Expertise in rodent
handling, dosing by multiple routes, blood withdrawal by different means and necropsy is required. The candidate will be expected to write study protocols and reports in English, process and analyze data using Excel, graphing and statistical software. Ability to search relevant literature, retrieve relevant technical information and suggest experimental protocols will be a plus.

This is a temporary position for 1 year.

The Position
As a Research Associate within Pharma Research Information you will work with large-scale biological and chemical data, both in-house and external, structured and unstructured. You will process and integrate the data in such a way that they can be queried and explored efficiently by scientists in Pharma Research projects. Your work will be based on ontologies, semantic technologies and text retrieval software. The requirements and use-cases will be discussed with chemists and biologists. This is a temporary 2 year position.

Postdoc in physicians and scientists in Kiel

At the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, Campus Kiel, 01.08.2009, for the post of / a Research Assistant in initially temporary for a period of two years with the option of extending to filling them. Requirement is a degree in medicine or science with a doctorate. We expect a high level of commitment and team spirit and the mastery of a wide range of molecular genetic and cell biological methods.

Experience in planning and conducting clinical pharmacology studies is desirable. The duties include active participation in translational research in pharmacogenomics approaches and participation in teaching. Functional characterization of candidate genes in pancreatic, Marburg/Lahn, Germany

Within the Integrated Genome Research Network Translational Genome Research Network in Pancreatic Cancer (PaCa-Net), the Medical Faculty of the Philipps-Universität Marburg, Division of Gastroenterology and Endocrinology, invites applications for the position of 1 PhD Candidate (Verg.-Gr. IIa BAT, part time position / 50 %) The aim of the PaCa-Net consortium is to foster the rapid development and transfer of novel genome-based, molecular targeted approaches for diagnosis and therapy of pancreatic cancer from basic research over preclinical testing into clinical applications. Doctoral Programs in the Life Sciences at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen

The International Giessen Graduate School for the Life Sciences (GGL) of the five faculties above and the Ph.D. Program of the Faculties of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine invite applicants for the Doctoral Programs in the Life Sciences

The Doctoral Programs consist of a three-year interdisciplinary graduate course curriculum combined with an experimental project leading to a dissertation. Each doctoral researcher will be supervised by two professors from different faculties and will benefit from our Doctoral Researcher Development Program. Seminars and courses are conducted in English; German language courses are offered for international students. Depending on the project selected and own qualifications students may receive a stipend and may be eligible to register for one of the doctoral degrees offered at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen (Ph.D., Dr. med., Dr. med. dent., Dr. biol. hom., Dr. med. vet., Dr. biol. anim., Dr. rer. nat., Dr. agr. and Dr. oec. troph).
