Functional characterization of candidate genes in pancreatic, Marburg/Lahn, Germany

Within the Integrated Genome Research Network Translational Genome Research Network in Pancreatic Cancer (PaCa-Net), the Medical Faculty of the Philipps-Universität Marburg, Division of Gastroenterology and Endocrinology, invites applications for the position of 1 PhD Candidate (Verg.-Gr. IIa BAT, part time position / 50 %) The aim of the PaCa-Net consortium is to foster the rapid development and transfer of novel genome-based, molecular targeted approaches for diagnosis and therapy of pancreatic cancer from basic research over preclinical testing into clinical applications. For more information, please visit www.ngfn-pacanet.de Research topic of the available position will be the functional characterization of candidate genes in pancreatic cancer using Transfected Cell Microarrays as well as single gene functional assays. Candidates are expected to have a profound background in molecular biology as well as cell culture and siRNA methods.
