As part of a project of the Graduate School Inter Neuroscience "will be characterized ion channels involved in the neuronal excitability and neuronal plasticity are involved. A particular focus of the investigation lies in the modulation of neuronal excitability and behavior of the neural growth through the activation of transient receptor potential (TRP)-homologous cation channels. Procedures will apply in addition to the cell culture and molecular biology in particular, electrophysiological and floureszenzoptische techniques.
